Upcoming this weekend we have an event at Fort Ticonderoga. We did this event last year, and it was a lot of fun, even with the torrential downpour on Sunday. You can visit their website here:
http://www.fort-ticonderoga.org/
And you can find a little more information about the event here:
http://www.fort-ticonderoga.org/events/revolutionary-war-encampment.htm
If you are in the area, please come out and support the Fort, there has been some rumblings of hard times financially with the Fort and we want to try and do all we can to keep this important Fort open!
As always if you do come and visit, be sure to stop by the 1st New Hampshire dining fly, we would love to meet you!

Hello Rachel. I quickly looked over at the Fort Ti website, and it seems there are TWO events at F. T. on Sept. 6, and that the first is a Rev War encampment at the Fort, with a battle reenactment at the Fort at 2pm -- is all that correct?
And then later in the day, there is some lamp-lit tour, which is for members only ... I am correct in all of that?
If I happened to be able to visit the Fort that day (and I am not a member of the group), I just want to make sure that this event is open to the public. It seems that it IS, from your post. But I wanted to double-check.
I can't promise that I'll be there, but if the event your group is in is open to the public, and if my schedule allows me to make the long trip (to me, even 30 miles away from home is a "long trip"), I have my hopes up.
Hope to talk to you later. Have fun in the meantime!

Hi there!!
The event is indeed open to the public, and both those events are part of the whole thing on Saturday. We do an encampmnet all day long and then at 2 the boys go and have a battle. The candle lit tour is pretty cool and last year they even shot off the cannons at night (not sure if they will do the same this year). They do a really great job at this event, if you can make it, I would highly suggest coming to this one!!
Cheers!
Rachel
Oh and I don't know much about the candle lit tour and if you need to be a member of the fort to do that, but I KNOW you DON'T need to be a member of the Fort to see the encampment and the battle!!
HTH!
Rachel
Wow, that's great! If I am there, I will introduce myself.
Do you mind me asking you one more question? :) What does "HTH" stand for? I don't think I've ever heard that expression.
I look forward to meeting you if you should be able to make it!!
HTH stands for Hope That Helps :) :)
HTH!! :)
Rachel
I'd like to go to Fort Ti someday, I've never gotten a chance to go before.
Yes, that helps very much. Thank you! If I can't make it this year, I will certainly try in the future.
Yours truly,
Hercules
